What you’ll do:

Work closely with students, either 1:1 or 2:1
Assist various mod to severe scenarios such as Toileting; Personal 1:1 Care; Non-Verbal; Challenging or Aggressive Behaviors in the Classroom
Build rapport and trust with the children in your care
Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
Support resource teacher(s) in delivering IEP's (individual education plans)
Take direction from lead educators and assist when needed

Perks & Compensation:

Earn up to $30/hr for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term. While pay varies based on certification, school, and the assignment, we strive to pay some of the highest rates among education providers.

The role is non-exempt. Actual pay is hourly and based on hours worked

What We’re Looking For:

Required: Fluent in American Sign Language and able to translate with non-signing individuals
Passion for education and putting students first
An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
College credits, Associate’s Degree or a Bachelors Degree
Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor
State & federal background checks

You’ll stand out if you have:

Preferred: Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Certification, American
Consortium of Certified Interpreters (ACCI), Level 4 or above (formerly known as NAD certification),Certification by the Cued Speech TECUnit, Educational Sign Skills Evaluation - Interpreter (ESSE-I), Level 4 or above, or Educational Interpreter Performance Evaluation (EIPA), Level 4 or above.
Experience with assisting in various mod to severe scenarios such as Toileting; Personal 1:1 Care; Non-Verbal; Challenging or Aggressive Behaviors in the Classroom
Experience working in K-12 schools
Spent time in Special Education settings
Worked with children who have Special Education needs
Any Special Education specific training
ABA experience (Applied Behavior Analysis)
