Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Interpreter to facilitate effective communication across diverse settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong linguistic abilities, cultural awareness, and exceptional interpersonal skills to accurately interpret spoken and written language. This role involves bridging language gaps in various environments, ensuring clarity and understanding for all parties involved.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate interpretation between two or more languages, including English and Quebec Sign Language, in real-time during meetings, conferences, medical appointments, legal proceedings, or community events.
- Translate written documents, ensuring the meaning and tone are preserved while adapting to cultural nuances.
- Assist with written communication tasks such as drafting and editing documents, reports, or correspondence as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to professional ethical standards.
- Collaborate with clients and organizations to understand specific interpretation needs and tailor services accordingly.
- Utilize typing skills to transcribe or prepare written materials efficiently.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills to facilitate effective dialogue among diverse groups.
Skills
- Proficiency in Interpretation and Translation across multiple languages, especially English and Quebec Sign Language.
- Strong Multilingual capabilities with a deep understanding of linguistics principles.
- Excellent Writing Skills for document translation and transcription tasks.
- Exceptional Communication Skills to convey messages clearly and effectively.
- Bilingual fluency in English and at least one other language; additional language skills are a plus.
- Ability to type accurately and efficiently for transcription purposes.
