Global Language Connections provides interpreting and translation services to hospitals, clinics, and legal and education sectors. We are currently seeking professional American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to work as independent contractors.
This is an in-person position with a flexible schedule, allowing you to accept assignments based on your availability.
Location
Interpreters are needed in Minnesota, including:
- Hennepin County
- Ramsey County
- Dakota County
- Scott County
- Stearns County
- Anoka County
- Carver County
Core Responsibilities
- Provide in-person ASL interpreting services as an independent contractor
- Comply with the Interpreter Code of Ethics
- Perform all duties in a professional and respectful manner
- Submit completed client worksheets within 24 hours of each appointment
Qualifications
- Fluency in English and American Sign Language (ASL)
- Required: Valid ASL certification (e.g., RID, CI , NDI or equivalent)
- Medical or legal interpreter training preferred
- Examples include: Interpreting degree, 40-hour CoreCHI Community Interpreter training, or continuing education
- Prior interpreting experience preferred
- Strong time-management skills
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- Completed immunization records
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or valid work authorization
- Reliable transportation (required for in-person assignments)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
- Must be able to pass background checks
