Mingdong Interpreter
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as interpreter for People with Limited English Proficiency for different social services settings.
- Perform Interpreter duties at the home/domicile or residential setting for people with limited English Proficiency.
- Provide consecutive interpretation between English and Mingdong.
- Listen to complete statements in one language, translate to second, and translate responses from second into first language.
- Express either approximate or exact translation, depending on nature of occasion.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience translating between Mingdong and English.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Fluency in both the Mingdong and English languages.
- Ability to read and write in both languages.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Provide own reliable transportation to and from client site(s).
- Listening skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Walking, Sitting and Moving around.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Interpreting: 2 years (Preferred)
- Mingdong : 5 years (Preferred)
- English : 3 years (Preferred)
- Bilingual: 1 year (Required)
