Desired Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID, NIC, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience working in K-12 or educational settings preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to adapt interpretation to the developmental level of an elementary-aged student
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Professionalism, reliability, and discretion in school environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, confidential 1:1 interpretation for an elementary student during classroom instruction, school activities, and interactions with staff and peers
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive learning experience
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel
- Implement best practices that promote student engagement and comprehension
- Support student participation in both academic and social aspects of school life
