Meta is seeking a Localization Program Manager to help drive the next evolution of Localization at Meta: applying AI and automation to transform how our programs operate. You will own and drive localization programs across product lines, leveraging AI tools as a force multiplier to deliver localization at greater scale, speed, and quality. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure localized products reach global users — contributing to Meta's mission to connect people across languages and cultures.
Localization Program Manager Responsibilities:
- Own and drive localization programs across assigned product lines, identifying where existing workflows fall short and implementing AI-powered improvements to increase scale and efficiency
- Navigate ambiguity in evolving product and AI landscapes — proactively identifying localization risks and unsolved problems, escalating effectively, and driving resolution across cross-functional partners
- Leverage AI tools and automation as a force multiplier to redesign localization workflows, automating repetitive tasks and accelerating time-to-market across language markets
- Evaluate and prioritize localization work within your program areas by assessing business impact, aligning with cross-functional partners on what to focus on, and ensuring resources are directed toward the highest-value opportunities
- Build consensus and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Content Design, Legal, Regional Growth) to drive product team adoption of standardized localization workflows, reducing ad-hoc support and enabling the team to scale
- Communicate program status, risks, and recommendations clearly to cross-functional partners and leadership, proactively surfacing tradeoffs and providing structured updates that enable informed decision-making
- Coach and influence peers and partners on modern localization practices, building organizational capability by helping teams internalize how to build internationalization into their products and workflows from inception
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in localization or equivalent program management, internationalization, or international product growth within a technology company
- Experience managing cross-functional localization programs spanning multiple product lines, languages, and regional markets
- Experience operationalizing localization strategy, including vendor management, quality frameworks, and integration of localization into product development lifecycles
- Experience using data and metrics to inform program decisions and communicate priorities to stakeholders
- Experience navigating cross-functional dependencies and driving alignment across product, engineering, and content teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience establishing or contributing to localization standards adopted across multiple teams or product areas
- Familiarity with internationalization engineering concepts such as Unicode handling, locale-specific formatting, and string externalization that affect localization feasibility
- Experience supporting international product growth in emerging or high-complexity language markets, including right-to-left languages or markets with significant linguistic variation
