Gifted Healthcare Education is hiring Educational Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) for school-based positions in Charleston County and Berkeley County, SC for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Details
- Locations: Charleston County and Moncks Corner (Berkeley County), SC
- School Year: August 4, 2026 – May 27, 2027
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, following the school calendar
- Typical Hours: Approximately 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Setting: Elementary, Middle, and High schools
$41-$47 per hour, based on EIPA score and assignment.
- EIPA 3.2-3.3: $41-$43/hour
- EIPA 3.4 or higher: $44-$47/hour
Responsibilities
- Provide ASL interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and school settings.
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers.
- Support students during classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and, when applicable, extracurricular events.
- Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to promote student success.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree or completion of a Sign Language Interpreter training program.
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English.
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.2 or higher.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
