The Role
• Design, develop, and manage technical writing and content creation for labeling documents, manuals, testing procedures, and operational specifications.
• Create and maintain documentation and illustrations for hardware and software user's guides, service manuals, and programming manuals.
• Develop structured content for end-user installation, operation, and maintenance manuals, user instructions, and quick reference guides, applying reuse strategies for single-sourcing.
• Manage the translation process with external vendors, ensuring content is prepared for localization into multiple languages.
• Collaborate with cross-functional product development teams and utilize customer feedback to develop comprehensive end-user documentation packages.
• Update legacy documentation and convert unstructured content to structured topics and maps.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, science, technology, or a related field, with 3 years of experience, or at least 10 years of experience in Technical Publications/Technical Communication.
• Proficiency in desktop publishing skills for creating and manipulating documentation.
• Skilled in the use of DITA - XML and content management systems.
• Experience with translation management systems.
• Ability to disassemble and reassemble instruments to create installation and maintenance information.
• Familiarity with Simplified Technical English rules and guidelines, Global Visual Design Standards, and Localization Best Practices.
