Role Description The Localization Engineer/Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in El Obour. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end localization processes for technical documentation, software interfaces, training materials, and marketing content related to Jinbei commercial vehicles. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing localization projects, configuring and maintaining localization tools, coordinating translation workflows, and ensuring that all localized content meets technical and linguistic standards. The Localization Engineer/Supervisor collaborates closely with engineering, product, marketing, and quality teams to align localized materials with automotive specifications and brand guidelines. The role also oversees localization testing, resolves technical issues, and implements continuous improvements in localization workflows to support JRE’s manufacturing and distribution operations.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform Localization Engineering tasks, including tool configuration, file preparation, and integration with content management or software development environments.
- Experience in Localization Testing and Quality Assurance to validate functionality, layout, and linguistic accuracy of localized content and interfaces.
- Strong Translation and linguistic review skills, with the capacity to work with language service providers and ensure terminology consistency.
- Desktop Publishing skills to manage layout, formatting, and design of localized technical manuals, marketing materials, and other documentation.
- Proven experience supervising localization projects, including planning, prioritizing, and monitoring workflows in a production or engineering environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Translation/Localization, or a related field; experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector is an advantage.
- Familiarity with localization platforms, CAT tools, version control systems, and common file formats (e.g., XML, HTML, JSON) is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in El Obour and adapt to a fast-paced environment with evolving project needs.
