Position Summary
WalkingCo is seeking an experienced, hands-on International Logistics & Operations Manager to drive operational performance, improve efficiency, manage domestic and international logistics, and support the company's continued growth.
The ideal candidate combines strong operations management experience with extensive knowledge of supply chain, distribution, inventory management, and third-party logistics (3PL). This position oversees operational performance across WalkingCo's two 3PL facilities in North Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mexico, while managing vendor relationships, controlling costs, and implementing scalable processes.
As WalkingCo pursues future acquisitions, this individual will also support operational due diligence and integration efforts related to supply chain and distribution.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management — Approximately 55%
Operational Leadership & Performance
- Oversee daily operational performance across logistics, distribution, inventory, and related supply chain activities.
- Establish and monitor KPIs measuring efficiency, accuracy, costs, productivity, and service levels.
- Identify operational challenges, implement corrective actions, and drive measurable improvements.
- Analyze operating data and provide performance reports and recommendations to leadership.
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
- Evaluate existing workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), operational controls, and best practices.
- Streamline processes to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, increase productivity, and support future growth.
- Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate activities and resolve operational issues.
- Oversee processes involving vendor packaging, labeling, routing requirements, warehouse supplies, and quality-control exceptions.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships and performance expectations with logistics providers, carriers, warehouses, and other operational vendors.
- Analyze operating expenses, budgets, and forecasts in collaboration with Finance.
- Negotiate vendor agreements, pricing, and service terms to improve cost efficiency.
- Monitor service-level compliance, resolve performance issues, and evaluate vendor consolidation opportunities.
- Review and resolve transportation billing discrepancies, including freight invoice approvals and disputes.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining operational performance and service quality.
Operational Scalability & Acquisition Support
- Develop scalable processes to support business growth, additional brands, and increased distribution volume.
- Support operational due diligence for potential acquisitions, including evaluating distribution capabilities, vendor agreements, costs, and risks.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate warehousing, transportation, and distribution operations following acquisitions.
- Assist with integrating acquired businesses into WalkingCo's supply chain and distribution infrastructure.
Logistics & Supply Chain Management — Approximately 45%
3PL, Distribution & Inventory Management
- Oversee WalkingCo's two 3PL partnerships in North Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mexico.
- Monitor warehouse performance, shipping timelines, fulfillment accuracy, inventory levels, and service-level compliance.
- Coordinate inventory movement, transfers, reconciliations, cycle counts, and replenishment.
- Review and audit 3PL invoices, including storage, pick/pack, handling, and accessorial charges.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies, fulfillment delays, and distribution issues.
- Oversee warehouse packaging supplies, product inspections, and disposition of damaged or nonconforming merchandise.
- Coordinate dropship vendor returns, return authorizations (RAs), and return-to-vendor (RTV) processing.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse utilization, inventory accuracy, and fulfillment efficiency.
Domestic & International Freight Operations
- Manage domestic and international transportation, including parcel, LTL, FTL, and ocean freight.
- Coordinate product movement from international manufacturing partners to distribution facilities and customers.
- Manage freight forwarders, carriers, and transportation providers to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor freight expenses, shipping performance, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate sample shipments, special orders, and other nonstandard product movements.
- Resolve shipping disruptions and coordinate with Customer Service on shipment-related escalations.
- Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs and improve delivery performance.
International Trade & Customs Compliance
- Oversee imports from manufacturing partners in China, Brazil, Vietnam, India, the Dominican Republic, and other countries.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure compliant and timely import and export processing.
- Maintain working knowledge of HTS classifications, duties, tariffs, country-of-origin requirements, and Incoterms.
- Ensure accuracy of international shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Monitor regulatory changes and identify opportunities to optimize import costs while maintaining compliance.
Mexico/U.S. Cross-Border Logistics
- Manage cross-border transportation and inventory movement between WalkingCo's Mexico-based 3PL and the United States.
- Coordinate transportation providers, customs brokers, and warehouse partners to ensure efficient inventory movement.
- Oversee logistics coordination involving San Diego, Tijuana, and Ensenada, as operationally required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable cross-border customs and distribution requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency, delivery timelines, and transportation costs.
Travel Requirements
- Travel to WalkingCo's North Las Vegas 3PL facility is expected approximately weekly.
- Occasional travel to San Diego, California, and Tijuana, Mexico, may be required for warehouse oversight, vendor coordination, and operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in operations management, supply chain, logistics, distribution, or related functions.
- Demonstrated experience managing operational performance, improving processes, and implementing measurable improvements.
- Strong background in operational cost management, budgeting, performance reporting, and vendor negotiations.
- Hands-on experience managing domestic and international third-party logistics providers, warehouse operations, inventory, and fulfillment.
- Knowledge of international freight, customs clearance, cross-border distribution, HTS classifications, tariffs, Incoterms, and international shipping documentation.
- Experience with ERP, WMS, TMS, or order management systems, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate accountability, and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in e-commerce, footwear, retail, consumer goods, or direct-to-consumer distribution.
- Experience managing multiple domestic and international 3PL facilities, including Mexico-to-U.S. cross-border logistics.
- Familiarity with Shopify, Brightpearl, or comparable ERP and e-commerce platforms.
- Experience supporting business acquisitions, operational due diligence, post-acquisition integration, or scaling operations for business growth.
Compensation
$75,000/year +
Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
