I am a Nationally Certified Medical Interpreter (NBCMI) and a Spanish-English medical translator with nine years of experience supporting language access and healthcare communication in academic medical settings.

As an expert in medical translation, machine translation post-editing (MTPE), linguistic quality assurance (LQA), healthcare localization, terminology management, and the cultural adaptation of patient-facing content, I am highly experienced in these fields. While working at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, I translated, reviewed, edited, and revised various materials, including patient education materials, consent forms, discharge instructions, patient portal communications, provider messages, employee communications, outreach materials, and clinical content.

I have experience reviewing machine-translated healthcare documents to ensure they are accurate, readable, and use consistent terminology. I verify that the documents comply with regulations and promote patient-centered communication. I have a strong grasp of medical terminology and a deep understanding of healthcare delivery, patient engagement, and cultural competence.

I have technical experience working with Phrase, XTM Workbench, Wordscope, and other translation memory systems and computer-aided translation (CAT) tools. I am also experienced in MTPE workflows, proofreading, editing, and quality assurance reviews.
