Interpreters and Translators, Inc. (iTi) is on the lookout for freelance interpreters to join our nationwide team! We're a multicultural language services company helping organizations connect with people in over 250 languages — from healthcare to legal to education and beyond.
Right now, we’re especially looking for folks based in the Greater Hartford area, but we also have remote opportunities (video and phone) for qualified candidates across the U.S.

What you’ll be doing:
- Interpret conversations in real time — either face-to-face or over the phone/video.
- Help people communicate in places like hospitals, courts, schools, and more.
- Keep it professional and confidential (HIPAA and interpreter ethics apply).
- Use your listening and language skills to bridge cultures and build understanding.
What we’re looking for:
- Fluent in English AND another language (Our top needs are Spanish, ASL, Portuguese, Chinese Mandarin, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, Arabic, Portuguese (Brazilian), Albanian, and Polish but all languages welcome!)
- High school diploma or GED
- Interpreter certifications are a plus, but not required.
- You’ll need to pass a short verbal language assessment.
- Comfortable using tech (video platforms, email, texting, etc.).
- Clear communicator and great with people.
This is 1099 contract work, so you’ll have the freedom to accept assignments that work for you. Whether you’re a seasoned interpreter or just starting out, this is a great way to earn on your own terms while doing important, meaningful work.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 50 per week
