Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Korean–English Interpreter to support a fast-paced consulting project based in South Korea. The interpreter will play a critical role in enabling clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate communication between Korean-speaking stakeholders and English-speaking consultants.
This role requires not only strong language proficiency but also familiarity with business terminology, professional discretion, and the ability to operate effectively in structured consulting environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation during:
- Client meetings
- Workshops and interviews
- Presentations and executive briefings
- Support minimal written translation of business documents, including:
- Reports and presentations
- Emails and correspondence
- Data summaries and meeting materials
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and contextual meaning in all interpretations
- Assist consultants in understanding cultural nuances, business etiquette, and local context
- Maintain confidentiality of all project-related information
- Collaborate closely with consulting teams to prepare for meetings (review terminology, context, and objectives in advance)
- Provide ad-hoc linguistic support during daily project activities
Required Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in both Korean and English
- Proven experience as an interpreter in business, consulting, or corporate settings
- Strong understanding of business terminology and professional communication
- Excellent listening, comprehension, and verbal delivery skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment
- High level of professionalism and discretion
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting management consulting or strategy projects
- Familiarity with industries such as technology, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, or public sector (depending on project)
- Experience with simultaneous interpretation equipment/tools
- Certification in interpretation/translation (e.g., degree in translation, interpretation certifications)
