iSEAO is an AI development company. We work on several exciting projects including the development of an Augmented Artificial Intelligence software for insurance and other legal documents named iExpert. We are currently expanding our team and seeking talented and motivated individuals who are interested in becoming Language Analysts. In this role, you will assist in analysing, refining and expanding our linguistic database that is crucial to our AI development.
As a Language Analyst, your responsibilities will include maintaining and updating our linguistic database, using various tools including Microsoft Excel. You will work closely with our research and development teams to ensure the accuracy and relevance of our language data. Your role will also involve analysing linguistic patterns and helping to develop heuristics to enable machine interpretation of language.
Our office is based in Chippendale, Sydney. There is flexibility around working days and hours to allow you to balance study and work commitments. Ideally, you would work 3+ days per week.
Job description:
- Applying grammatical concepts, such as linguistic theories, in granular analysis of language
- Capturing essential dimensions of words and breaking sentences down into their key components
- Transforming these insights into analysis that can be applied consistently across a dataset
- Contribute to building a tailored corpus using bespoke tools
- Collaborating with team members to workshop and align your insights
- Working in an evolving environment, in which the methods and frame through which you are looking at language evolve with development priorities
This job will suit you if:
- You study or have studied linguistics and/or a language related field.
- You would like to develop skills in analysing data and can derive meaningful insights from linguistic data.
- Experience reading and understanding complex legal text preferred.
- You are proficient in Excel (e.g. pivots, Vlookup, etc.), and (technologically capable)
- You are enthusiastic and have a positive attitude towards learning on the job.
- You possess great communication skills and can work effectively within a team as well as independently.
