Position Overview
Language Talent Pool is hiring Certified Spanish Medical Interpreters to provide professional, on-site interpretation for workers’ compensation-related medical assignments in Lexington, Kentucky.
Interpreters will facilitate accurate and impartial communication between Spanish-speaking individuals and healthcare professionals during medical appointments and other workers’ compensation-related encounters.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced medical interpreters who are based in or near Lexington and interested in ongoing on-site assignments.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete Spanish ↔ English consecutive interpretation during medical appointments and related encounters.
- Facilitate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other professionals involved in workers’ compensation cases.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Follow professional interpreter standards of practice and codes of ethics.
- Remain impartial and accurately convey meaning, tone, and intent.
- Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled on-site assignments.
- Communicate promptly with Language Talent Pool regarding assignment availability and scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Current CMI (Certified Medical Interpreter) or CHI™ (Certified Healthcare Interpreter) certification — required.
- Professional fluency in Spanish and English.
- Experience providing medical or healthcare interpretation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology in both Spanish and English.
- Understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
- Ability to travel to on-site assignments in Lexington, KY.
- Reliable transportation and professional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience interpreting for workers’ compensation cases.
- Experience interpreting during medical evaluations, treatment appointments, rehabilitation, or similar healthcare encounters.
- Familiarity with workers’ compensation terminology and processes.
