The Vendor Manager (Vendor Recruiter) is responsible for collaborating with Production and Sales teams on vendor pool management, vendor recruitment, certification process, as well as maximizing certified vendor usage.
Description:
- Act as point-of-contact for relevant Production departments and Sales teams to plan proactive resourcing needs and update on progress as required
- Monitor vendor usage and quality performance of the linguistic pool to assess replacement needs
- Provide on-the-job support to the Vendor Management team
- Be knowledgeable in and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the localization industry, including market conditions, trends and competitive rates
- Be knowledgeable in the needs and requirements of both the external industry and internal Production teams
- Respond to the vendor needs of the Production teams by searching for and recommending the appropriate vendor profiles or launching recruitment
- Confidently use translation directories and sourcing tools
- Take the lead in proactively recruiting new resources for different types of services, to expand the company’s database of external vendors
- Test recruited vendors according to specialized skill sets, following the company’s testing and onboarding documented process and using the required platforms
- Negotiate preferred rates with onboarded vendors according to company, department and project needs
- Proactively suggest rate negotiation strategies to Production
- Promote newly recruited and tested vendors to the appropriate Production teams for use on live projects and to Internal Linguist teams for training opportunities
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with contract vendors, Production staff and internal teams globally
- Strategize with the direct manager to find viable means of making processes more efficient
- Proactively seek out opportunities and attend trade shows, conferences, or industry events
- Research and understand all industries that TransPerfect markets to, including industry leaders, current events and any other pertinent data
- Assist in new hire trainings for the Vendor Management team
- Complete any other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisor

Desired Skills And Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Associate Vendor Manager or Vendor Management experience
- Prior experience with recruitment of localization professionals for specific languages and specialties
- Market research skills
- Knowledge of Vendor Management database, software or systems
