Interpreter / Translator

Driscoll Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time Spanish-English medical interpreter and translator to support patients, families, healthcare providers, and hospital staff in Corpus Christi.

Role

• Interpret medical information and instructions between Spanish and English.
• Interpret questions from Spanish-speaking families for physicians and other healthcare personnel.
• Provide sight translation for consents, protocols, discharge orders, and related documents.
• Translate, edit, and proofread written healthcare information in Spanish.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records of interpretation encounters.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with medical terminology in Spanish and English.
• Associate or bachelor's degree, or equivalent education, preferred.
• Strong cultural competence, accuracy, and professional communication skills.
• Reliable transportation is required for occasional hospital business travel.
