Role:
ASL Interpreter
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, culturally competent interpretation for Deaf and hard-of-hearing pediatric patients and families
- Support communication during medical appointments, procedures, family conferences, and hospital programs
- Ensure clear, confidential communication between healthcare providers and families
- Collaborate with care teams to facilitate effective interactions
- Follow ethical standards and document services as required
- Contribute to an inclusive, patient-centered environment focused on children’s health and well-being
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpretation
- Knowledge of medical and healthcare terminology
- Strong communication and cultural competency skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards
