Medical Interpreter Sr

Children's Hospital Colorado is hiring a Senior Medical Interpreter to provide advanced interpretation and translation services and help strengthen quality across its language-access team.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret for patients, families, providers, and staff in clinical and non-clinical settings.
• Translate discharge instructions, patient education materials, and departmental communications.
• Mentor and coach less-experienced interpreters in techniques, ethics, and best practices.
• Support onboarding, skills assessment, training development, and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Document interpreting activity in the electronic medical record and support appropriate EMR use.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of translation or interpretation experience.
• Spoken and written fluency in Spanish and English, or another foreign language and English.
• Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreter certification or an equivalent credential is required at hire.

This is a full-time, 40-hour position scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The published hourly range is $24.01–$36.02, depending on relevant experience.
