About this opportunity

If you’re a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter, here’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through a fully virtual, contract role supporting students and educators. This full-time position focuses on facilitating communication for a small group of Deaf students in grades 3 and 4, alongside collaborative work with special education teams to help teach sign language to PCAs and TAs working with students who have complex needs and are eager to learn sign language.

You’ll enjoy predictable 35-hour work weeks, with an 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule (excluding a half-hour lunch break), and a long-term assignment from ASAP through late May 2027.

**What You’ll Bring**

  • At least a 3.5 EIPA score; interpreters residing in PA may also qualify under RID certification, while those outside PA must have EIPA.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language and proficiency with virtual interpreting technology.
  • Experience supporting K–12 students, ideally including working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing populations.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary education teams to convey language, facilitate instruction, and train support staff.
  • Adaptability to virtual work, with a consistent internet connection and an organized workspace.

**In This Role, Your Daily Contributions Will Include**

  • Interpreting classroom instruction and discussions for Deaf students in real time.
  • Partnering with a Teacher of the Deaf and special education staff to maximize accessibility.
  • Coaching support staff in sign language basics to better assist students with complex learning needs.
  • Ensuring clear, culturally-responsive communication at all times.

You’ll play a vital role making education accessible while gaining experience in a diverse school community—all from your home office. If you meet the qualifications and are passionate about accessible education, submit your application now to become a key resource for these students and staff.
