Spanish Medical Interpreter | Part-Time & Full-Time

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring a Spanish Medical Interpreter to help patients and families with limited English proficiency communicate accurately with medical-center staff. Services may be provided in person, by phone, or by video.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate and complete interpretation between patients, families, and providers.
• Adapt interpretation to the clinical context and the patient or family's level of understanding.
• Support limited patient-specific written translation when needed.
• Follow recognized healthcare-interpreter ethics and professional standards.
• Document interpreted encounters and complete assigned annual competencies.

Qualifications

• At least two years of interpreting experience in healthcare or a related setting.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish, including medical terminology.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is preferred.
• Medical-interpreter skills assessment through an approved third party is required.
• Interpreter training or a related certificate is preferred, with a 40-hour program preferred.
• Pediatric, multidisciplinary-team, and written-translation experience are preferred.
