Translator

**Overview**

As a Translator, you’ll help people understand one another across languages and cultures. You’ll translate written materials and provide interpretation in settings such as phone calls, live conversations, and educational environments. You’ll work with care and precision to preserve meaning, tone, and context.

**Responsibilities**

• Translate written content between English and other languages, maintaining accuracy, clarity, and the intended tone.
• Provide consecutive, simultaneous, and over-the-phone interpretation as needed.
• Support educational interpretation by helping students, families, and staff communicate effectively.
• Protect confidential information and follow professional ethics in every assignment.
• Your impact: Accurate translation and interpretation help people access information, participate in important conversations, and feel understood.

**Skills**

• Essential: Strong English and foreign language proficiency, with bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
• Essential: Excellent communication skills, cultural competency, and a commitment to professional ethics.
• Essential: Demonstrated ability in translation and interpretation, including consecutive or simultaneous interpretation.
• Preferred: Experience with over-the-phone or educational interpretation.
• Preferred: American Sign Language proficiency and knowledge of linguistics.

Pay

$26.05 - $36.37 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
